Reporting to the Engineering Manager you are expected to ensure all types of production machinery and equipment are maintained to a high standard of repair. Working closely with the production departments identifying, co-ordinating processing and packing problems with the minimum amount of disruption. Respond to any operational day to day changes through the use of planned maintenance programmes.
Engineers work 40 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern:
Lates/Earlies/Nights during production days (Tues, Weds, Thurs).
A day shift is operated on Mondays & Fridays.
Duties:
Day to day machine performance, including establishing future service platforms to maintain or improve machine efficiencies
Proactively contribute to improvement activities within the team to build on a continuous improvement approach
Proactive approach to the identification and processing of packaging problems, whilst co-ordinating with the relevant key personnel
Environmental and Energy projects, to monitor and review energy conservation
Data collection, accurate and detailed machine performance information for quality control and audit purposes
Budget and cost control of spares and to determine most cost efficient use of spares
Project work including installation, commission and test of machines
Person Profile:
Electrical or multi skilled engineer (and should have completed level 3 NVQ Mechanical to Electrical if multi skilled).
Working knowledge, through certified training, of Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley preferred)
PC literate, use of Microsoft programs with experience of SCADA systems
IEE wiring regulation accreditation
FMCG experience gained in a Food Manufacturing environment
Demonstrate strong maintenance skills and familiarity with a variety of methods.
Good communication and interpersonal skills and you should be able to work on your own initiative
To take responsibility for your own safety and do what you can to ensure the safety of other people on site.
Report all accidents and near misses, no matter how trivial.

5 years minimum experience in software development
Ability to rapidly understand the functionality required to be delivered from the software applications.
Ability to write Software specifications and design documentation, providing a high degree of confidence in the correct operation of the software applications developed from them in the most time effective manner.
Structured design methodologies
Experience of C and preferably assembler
Understanding of processor architectures and peripherals
The role will contribute to the success of the Technical division by ensuring effective and efficient advice and support is delivered along with excellent administrative, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Educational level and skill requirements:
Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Construction or similar industry
Able to demonstrate ability to work effectively with customers in a pressurised environment Experience in the construction plant or transport distribution industry is able to identify skills applied in either, parts; warranty or service departments.
