Description

We are looking for an experienced Supervisor to join our Inbound team.

Hours: 6am - 2:15pm

Areas of accountability

  1. Be responsible for improving and maintaining a fast, high quality and cost effective inbound process for products and meeting all relevant team and individual KPIs in line with our OGSMs
  2. Supervising approx. 15 people
  3. Continually look to learn from best practice within and outside of our clients business and translate this into a clear action plan for the team
  4. Ensure one team culture within logistics and other teams, as well as support the other Outbound supervisors as and when required
  5. Manage the day to day running of the team ensuring goods are day stamped, KPI’s are monitored and achieved
  6. Work closely with the Team Manager Logistics in setting daily and weekly targets and ensuring these are met
  7. Communicate clear work instructions effectively to the team and carry out daily or weekly stand ups as required
  8. Motivate and focus staff to achieve throughput and quality targets
  9. Implement "Right first time" quality assurance to improve and maintain our high level of service to our customers
  10. Monitor staff working hours and manage attendance effectively and in line with our policies
  11. Identify and report staff training requirements, coach and develop staff
  12. Manage training requirements (including Health and Safety) to ensure people can work across all areas within Logistics to help us manage absence and busy periods
  13. Provide leadership and operate as a role model, offering mentoring, training and motivating small teams of logistics operators
  14. Implement company procedures, ensuring that best practices are observed and safe systems of work are being followed
  15. Ensure that good housekeeping and 5S is in place and sustained
  16. Co-ordinate resources with our clients Assistant Logistics Operations Manager, to ensure work is addressed in a safe and timely manner
  17. Create a positive and engaging working environment. Proactively raise operational issues in a timely manner to the Assistant Logistics Operations Manager
  18. Support the Team Manager Logistics with new initiatives and facilitate change
  19. Appraise and manage performance, capability and conduct
  20. Carry out Operational activities (picking, packing, put away etc. ) to support the team as and when required

Job requirements

  • A level or equivalent
  • Previous Logistics supervisory experience
  • A Focused and motivated individual with a desire to progress and develop
  • Embraces change and comes up with new ways of doing things
  • A keen eye for detail and a sound understanding of right first time
  • Strong communication skills with a mature and professional approach
  • A flexible attitude to working hours
  • Maintain a tidy and professional working environment with a special emphasis on health and safety
  • IT skills are essential
  • Hands on and willing to step in as and when required to help the team
