Our client is looking for a QA team member to assist the QA leader within a food processing environment. Experience in the food industry is required.

You will contribute to the achievement of the site objectives by being accountable for the delivery of Health and Safety and Operational Excellence for the site. You will be responsible for delivering operational KPIs using information to identify improvements for operational performance.

Your role will be responsible for the day to day functioning of the Technical department. You will be spending the vast majority of your day in the factory, driving and communicating high standards and expectations to the site teams.

You will always be looking to challenge and improve safety, improve quality procedures & processes, drive product quality and ensure efficiency in the most cost effective manner.

You will be required to support the delivery of Health and Safety targets, Operational Excellence, Production targets, meet and exceed all Technical/Quality specifications/targets and all other agreed KPIs. As a QA Team Member your priority is to ensure customer orders are completed safely, to required quality standards and within budget. You will support the QA Leader to optimise profitability in conjunction with short and long-term business strategies, goals and objectives.

  • Ensure all Team Members are working safely to standards and practices.
  • Exercise accountability and responsibility through a duty of care for those activities undertaken by Team Members.
  • Assist the Technical Leader in driving through a culture change within the technical department with an unwavering focus on Health and Safety and Product Quality. Own a culture of zero complaints, ensuring all team members are educated and trained in the fundamentals of Product Quality.
  • Ensure that all products are produced to Customer, Company, BRC and Legal requirements.
  • Ensure all engineering works are reported swiftly and accurately on the Pirana maintenance system.
  • Develop an excellent close daily working relationship with the QA Leader, the Engineering Team Leaders & Team Members, the Hygiene Leader and the Production Area & Team Leaders.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers to ensure that the Technical needs of the business are met.
  • You will understand and follow Company Policies and Procedures. You will always ensure all your duties are completed according to these Company policies and Procedures.
  • Support a Product Quality priority mindset with active support and encouragement for the Production Team Members to voice their concerns regarding Product Quality issues.
  • Responsible for setting and maintaining the highest Quality standards ensuring you work to current good manufacturing practices at all times. Meet and surpass all external and internal audit standards.
  • Be an ambassador for the company at all times, behaving in a professional and courteous manner with both internal and external customers.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Hours: Mon to Fri, 07.30-16.30
