Description
Our client is a well-established company based in Letchworth Garden City, looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join their growing warehouse team.
This is a hands-on warehouse role involving physical work, goods in/out, loading and unloading, paperwork, stock movement and dealing directly with drivers and other departments.
Main Duties
- Receiving goods into the warehouse, completing paperwork and checking quantities and quality.
- Loading and dispatching goods, ensuring packaging and quality standards are met for safe delivery.
- Maintaining a safe working environment and following health & safety and PPE requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement and contributing to efficient warehouse processes.
- Inspecting incoming and outgoing goods for accuracy, quality and damage, and quarantining non-conforming items where required.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence – essential.
- Flexi/Pivot forklift licence preferred.
- Candidates with good Reach and/or Counterbalance experience will also be considered, with additional Flexi/Pivot training available for the right person.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Good computer skills and ability to learn warehouse systems.
- Previous Goods In/Goods Out experience strongly preferred.
- Comfortable checking quantities, quality and condition of goods and identifying discrepancies or damage.
- Physically capable and happy carrying out manual lifting and stock movement throughout the working day.
- Good customer service skills, common sense and ability to use own initiative.
- Flexible, reliable and willing to help wherever needed.
Salary: up to £27,500 depending on experience.
Hours: 8-hour working day between 6:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, dependent on workload and with prior notice from the line manager. Typical hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am–5:00pm, with Friday as 7:00am–4:00pm.
Holiday: 20 days per annum plus bank holidays.
